TxDOT is receiving public comments on the NHHIP FEIS through Dec 9.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has released its Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the North Houston Highway Improvement Project (NHHIP, aka: I-45 expansion), and is accepting public comments through Wednesday, December 9, 2020. This project will take years to complete and will have major and lasting impacts on the City of Houston. The FEIS is the last hurdle for TxDOT to obtain a Record of Decision to implement the NHHIP. This comment period is our opportunity to tell TxDOT whether the agency has responded sufficiently to the concerns expressed by the Mayor and other elected officials and the feedback given in numerous community meetings and previous written public comments.
There are a number of resources available to help you in understanding the content of the FEIS and preparing comments. (Many thanks to Ashley Johnson of LINK Houston for help in compiling these!)
