The Houston Planning & Development Department has scheduled six community meetings to introduce the proposed Walkable Places Ordinance and Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Ordinance for public input. The meeting for Neartown/Museum District/TMC will be held Wednesday, November 6 at Covenant Church, 4949 Caroline St. The proposed ordinances are the outcome of the work of the Walkable Places Committee of the City Planning Commission over the last two and a half years. Following the community meetings, the Planning Department expects to present the proposed ordinances to the Planning Commission in December.
Included in the review will be the proposed designated TOD Streets. Properties along these street segments would be eligible for application of the TOD Rules, with Primary TOD Streets (yellow) required to comply with, and Secondary TOD Streets (pink) able to opt into the TOD Rules.
