Funding for the conversion of an asphalt parking lot into a small urban park was provided by Parks Consolidated Construction Funds, the Parks and Recreation Dedication Fund, a reimbursement of the Equipment/Projects Fund, contributions from former Council Member Ellen Cohen’s Council District Service Funds, and grant funds from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The park was acquired by the City of Houston in 2015 and is located in City Council District C, represented by Council Member Abbie Kamin.

The .24 acre park features a brick pavilion with a chimney and colored pane windows, a brick inlaid sidewalk, dog run, playground equipment, workout station, benches, fencing, interpretive signage, a remembrance garden and landscaping.
