Houston's Planning and Development Department launched the Livable Places initiative in 2020 to update Houston’s development codes. The committee aims to create more opportunities to strengthen and preserve our neighborhoods.

The Livable Places Action Committee is discussing potential amendments based on public comments. Learn about the concept of accessory dwelling units (ADUs) as a potential way to increase housing options and affordability. Take the Single-Family Residential Survey to give feedback about the potential benefits and challenges for this development concept. The survey will close on August 16.
